It makes me feel a little bit better about all of the online shopping that I do! Because let's face it, getting out and shopping with two tiny people in tow during the holidays is a recipe for disaster! xo, Lauren

Kid's Room Design Board: Eclectic Adventurer

9.30.2014

I've never been one for a super specific themed kid's room, but every kid loves going on adventures, right? I know Violet does! I whipped up this eclectic adventurer-themed room for Apartment Therapy - you can see the full post with sources right here. xo, Lauren

Camp Kid

8.12.2014

I don't know what it is, but there's something about a camp theme for a kid's room that feels oh, so right. Maybe it's the warm textures and rustic accents or perhaps the feelings and memories it brings up - warming your toes by the campfire, feeling the wind in your hair as you row across the lake in a canoe, or smelling the sweet smell of dew in the morning, but it's one of my favorites for sure. You can check out my favorite pieces to pull together a modern camp-themed space over on my latest article for Houzz.com.

P.S. The gold ceiling fixture is a DIY project found here, and the "Be Brave and Courageous" print is another DIY By Joni of Lay Baby Lay!

Family Room Update

8.10.2014

We formerly had a pretty decent little art wall in this little section of the family room. That is, until I stole most of it to fill up this corner. As a result, this part of our room has been looking pretty forlorn the past few months. It's not that I didn't have any artwork - it was mainly just finding the time to hang it. So when Apartment Therapy asked me to fill up a wall in my living room with art, I seized the opportunity. To see the before and after, find sources for the artwork, and watch a fun little animated GIF of the process (created with my trusty iPhone, the girls' play kitchen, and a C-clamp due to my current lack of camera), head on over to Apartment Therapy.

And for those who may be curious, here are the sources for the other items in the space:

A Pair of Pears

7.10.2014

I came across this pretty pear painting on Pinterest and fell in love - it's right up my alley with that peachy pink/bluey mint color combination. Throw in a bit of black stripe and a generous amount of gold and stir. You can find all of the sources and more over at my post for Houzz.com.

Handmade Love: Marinski Handmades

6.30.2014

I stumbled across this pretty little shop today and am so in love with these pretty little plates - aren't they just the loveliest thing you've ever seen?! You can find these and more at Marinski Handmades.

9 of the Cutest Moon Prints + Posters

6.05.2014
I don't know what it is about the moon, but Violet has been in love with it since she was a wee babe. Maybe it's that it is the brightest thing in the sky at night, and the girl loves her light :) At the moment we have two night lights going strong in her room in addition to leaving the hall light on for her. Whatever the reason, I think the moon makes a perfect addition to most any little one's space. Here are nine of my favorite prints featuring that big glowing ball in the night sky:

1. Goodnight Moon
2. I Love You to the Moon & Back
3. I Love You to the Moon & Back
4. La Lune
5. Moon Man
6. The Moon
7. Moon Phases
8. Moon Banner
9. Full Moon

Handmade Love - Woven Wall Hangings

5.29.2014
I've been loving the current trend of woven wall hangings a la Maryanne Moodie and  - they can bring so much color, texture, and whimsy to a space! Here are a few of my favorite handmade offerings currently on Etsy. Some of them can be a bit pricey (understandably so considering that they take a ton of time, effort, and creativity), but if you search hard you can find some that are budget friendly (one of these is only $40! Can you guess which one?!) Or you could even go the route of some of my favorite bloggers like Rachel or Jen and create one yourself.

Here are a few shops that I've discovered on Etsy (whose work you can see above) if you're not feeling super creative today:

Jujujust
Hazel & Hunter
Wall and Woven
Maija Eliz
Jennifer Lesley Design
Jeannie Helzer

A Girly Glamping Nursery

5.14.2014
I came across this print on Pinterest and loved the campy look in the fresh blush, navy, and orange color palette. It inspired this girly camping (glamping?) themed space. I love that it has rustic and camp-themed elements, but still looks very girly and a little bit glamorous at the same time. You can find all of the sources in my article for Houzz.comxo, Lauren

P.S. After getting a lot of requests, I added sources to my Spring Fling Cool Berry and Sky Blue idea boards - you can check them out here!
