Friday Favorites

5.30.2014

Definitely on my bucket list (not the elopement part - it's too late for that! Just the picnic on a beautiful mountain/hill top a la The Sound of Music).

Such a sweet and simple birthday party.

I've been obsessed with her artwork for a long time, but now I'm also obsessed with her hair.

And definitely trying out this hair tutorial (as soon as I get a curling iron lol!)

On my wish list (although I so wish it was still available in the emerald green!)

In love with these adorable handmade dolls - every detail spot on is  right down to the adorable little bear purse.

Dollhouse nerd alert - freaking out over this dollhouse. This would totally be my Barbie's dream house.

DIY play kitchen perfection.

The cutest kids' tee ever.

And the happiest print.

Happy happy Friday! xo, Lauren

8.10.2012

I didn't quite get around to this post this week, so the first group of links are a bit thin. Sorry inter webs - I'm sure you have a lot more to love, I just didn't find it/save the link/pin it this week!

V's been waking up between 4AM and 6AM every morning which I'll have to admit isn't working for me much while still trying to get over jet lag. Feeling a bit zombie-esque these days! But then I just take a look at the above photo and think, who cares? I mean how can you care about something so silly when you've got a kid like that? Pure joy.

So anyway, better late than never, here you are:

Your children want YOU.

I really really want to make one of these.

Raising successful children

As you read this we are on our way back across the Pacific. I'm going to miss my sister and brother-in-law, and especially the handsome little guy pictured above something fierce. Luckily I have the trip ahead on which to focus to help take my mind off the fact that I'm leaving them far behind.

I'm actually fairly nervous at the moment - our trip here went much better than expected, so I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst on the trip home. I just feel like it can't be that easy! Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

In the meantime here are a few of my favorite things from around the web this week:

I could think of so many uses for these

Dressing like summer.

Ah two of my favorite things: polka dots and cake

And some more cake love.

Call me!

I could work here.

And I could definitely sleep here. Or here.

And a few of my favorites from over on A Lovely Lark:

Lovely little spaces: One . Two . Three

Lovely little things: One . Two . Three

Lovely little art.

Adorable way to announce a bun in the oven!

Thanks so much for all of your support on the launch of my new little corner of the internet! I'm pretty excited about it and hope that you'll follow along with me as I work out all of the kinks. I was amazed when I glanced at my calendar that we have NO weekend plans. That seriously never happens. It's a welcome relief as this week has been jam packed with play dates, contractor estimates, meetings, trips to the zoo, launching the new site, and babysitting our babysitter's four kids (she's a saint). We're pretty spent, so I'm looking forward to an obligation-free weekend. And speaking of the weekend, here are a few fun links for yours:

The professional photos from this wedding I posted about a few weeks ago are just stunning! Worth a second look for sure.

Summer fun in a jar.

How to do a perfect top knot.

A timely upholstered headboard DIY post from YHL - thanks guys!

Super sweet mama + little girl moment.

Edgy bed sheets - one of each please!

Bridal shower in a box. Yes please.

The things that we do that our children see.

I get by with a little help from my man.

My absolute favorite thing this week? Spending ENTIRE DAYS outside with my favorite little person. The weather has been perfection - a light breeze, warm but not hot temperatures, and no humidity. The teepee has been our second home - we've been reading books, having picnics, breathing in the fresh air, and doing a lot of snuggling.

And in the online universe this stuff isn't so bad either...

Totally making the DIY pom pillow in this tutorial.

Pretty amazing stairway before + after

A pretty picnic basket that you can make yourself.

Completely in love with Anna Spiro's new line of wallpapers for Porter's Paints.

Lovely printable wedding table numbers

I want this bathroom. Or really any room with Julia Rothman's wallpaper for Hygge & West.

Love this addition to Nicole's living room. If I had a place for the larger size of the botanical print I would totally own it myself. I'll just have to stick with my mini version for now.

Violet would spend hours in this (okay maybe half an hour which in toddler time is like an eternity). But still.

Super cool dollhouse. The wallpaper tree - gasp!

Tips for traveling with a toddler. Thanks Jen - I'm going to need all the help I can get! Looking forward to part two.

How is it that Liz is always so right on? Re: Your Child is Not Special

This has to be hands down the most beautiful baby shower I have ever seen.

Every woman wants a man who loves her this much. So much that a post about his birthday turns into a love letter to her. [Kevin if you ever decide to start up a blog make sure it's full of lots of this gushy stuff.]

Happy weekend! xo, Lauren

Friday Favorites + True Love

5.25.2012

We had a special delivery to the H-Haus yesterday thanks to the lovely Lori Marie. She sent us one of her beautiful dolls, Merriweather, and Violet is IN LOVE. She took that doll everywhere with her yesterday - to the park, down the slide, on the swing, in the stroller, she fed it her snack and snuggled her and lovingly stroked her hair. I love seeing her start 'mothering' her own babies, it's so sweet. (I also have one of Lori Marie's medallion pillows and daisy chains. Yep, I'm an addict.)

We're so looking forward to a LONG Memorial Day weekend and I'm really excited to take Violet to the parade - she gets so excited about them. Having a child really does make everything fresh and fun again, doesn't it?

I also want to say a special thank you to a few heroes in my family: my Papaw, Uncle Tim, brother-in-law Randy, and cousins Donny, Shanna, Justy, and Tim - Thank you for your service to our country!

And without further ado, a few favorite links to kick off your holiday weekend:

Pretty printable envelopes

Custom constellation artwork for your little one

Love this gorgeous party set up featured on Amy Atlas' blog. I'm going for a similar color scheme for Violet's birthday party.

Fifteen minute flower garland!

Everything about this wedding is so pretty.

I'm guilty of this (but she is so right - it's silly)

Love it when I see a glimpse of real life.

Must try this.

Love this honest post

Last but not least I'd so appreciate your vote over on the Homies - today is the last day :)

Pinterest love.

I think this is an important read for any breastfeeding mother.

One day she will be older...

I need to get on top of this.

I would have slept here as a little girl:

[the smell of bacon and eggs coming from the kitchen, the sound of cartoons, hot cups of coffee and a tiny human streaking through the house in just underwear] - sounds pretty perfect

I'm definitely going to be playing around with this.

Makes sense of my own ambiguous disdain of licensed character toys + give her choices

What were you doing on 10.10.10?

Well said. This too.

And last but not least, have you seen The Take Home Series over on Pacing the Panic Room? Pretty video hair tutorials for you to play with this weekend!
