Dining Room Update

10.22.2012

We have been slowly updating the dining room, and I haven't taken any photos of it for a while, so I figured it was time. Back when we wallpapered the living room accent wall, its twin in the dining room got wallpapered as well. We also replaced our dust-collecting console with Violet's new play kitchen and added a few new accessories. All-in-all nothing ground breaking, but it does give the space a whole new look and feel:

One thing I'm still not sold on are the chairs. They were simple and inexpensive, but I was never really in LOVE with them and if I could I would probably replace them with mismatched or more modern white chairs. Just something lighter and with a little more character. Of course, being in baby budget mode means I can only dream, but for now these will have to do! If anyone wants to swap four black chairs for four white ones, give me a ring :) xo, Lauren

P.S. You can see more of our home here.

  1. Love all your updates! Your home is beautiful! Could you please tell me what paint color you used for the walls in the dining room? I've always been a big fan of soft yellows, but it can be tricky to find the right shade. Thanks so much.

  2. So pretty! I love it! I went into your home tour and was curious about two things (1) what paint color did you use in the main bathroom? Looking to paint my bathroom a similar color and just love it! (2) where do you get all of your curtains? I love the colors and patterns...

  3. Thanks Kayleigh! The paint color in the main bathroom is Martha Stewart Magnetite. I was a little nervous about the dark color but we love it! The curtains in the living/dining room are from West Elm (Narrow Frame Window Panels), the nursery curtains are from Urban Outfitters but are no longer available that I'm aware of. In the back room the curtains are from Crate & Barrel and in Violet's room they are IKEA. Hope that helps!

  4. Your dining room is lovely! Maybe you could paint the chairs for now? I actually really like them and the shape of them is nice.

  5. Thanks Lauren! I am also a little nervous about painting my bathroom so dark, but it needs a serious change and I am loving the dark charcoal right now! Plus it would look awesome with a white shower curtain and some white bath mats! Thanks for the curtain sources. I am going to browse now! It so refreshing to see patterned curtains since mine are all a solid color.
