Jessica's Neutral Boy's Nursery

5.19.2010
Recently, Jessica wrote to me for help with her baby boy's nursery:

Hi Lauren,

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your style!!! LOVE it! You are very talented.

I'm putting together a nursery for my baby boy. The room is boring in shape - rectangular (10X16) with one large sliding door on one of the 16' walls, no windows. I have some dark brown curtains Id like to re-purpose, and I think we will choose a like tan/khaki color for the walls. The trim is a cream/off white color.

I need help bringing some life/fun in to it!! The crib we have is the Graco Lauren in espresso. and I have a white crib skirt. Not sure what bedding I want/will use. Here are some of the things I've come across and liked (disregard the girl stuff down low):

By the way we also have a large IKEA Expedit that I could use in the nursery. I'm sooo excited!

I'm so excited to get to work on your nursery, Jessica! Here's what I came up with:

I think the IKEA Expedit Unit would work great for storage and display, and I included a few items on the idea board that could be displayed on the unit (number '6', fire truck, hexagons.) You could hide the things you want to store but not display (blankets, diapers, toys, etc) in bins - maybe in white?
