A Christmas Poem

12.27.2011
'Twas the night before Christmas

and our family went to see
the little baby Jesus
followed by dinner and Christmas tea

later that evening
when you were in bed
Santa and his elves
flew over in their sled

 they came down the chimney
without making a sound
and suddenly our tree
had presents all 'round

and when you awoke
your eyes filled with wonder
then you quickly got to work
you had presents to plunder!

you found a box full of music,
a bright shining moon,
and a little toy engine
that made loops round the room

then what to your wondering eyes did appear?
why, family from Australia who we hold near and dear!

your Grammy & Pop Pop
came to visit you too
and with your Uncle Dan
we had the whole crew!

a Christmas with family
is just the right kind
 full of laughter and love
and the ties that bind.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas full of family, friends, laughter and cheer. Ours was just perfect and I know it will only get better with each coming year! And apparently I can't stop rhyming - oh dear!

Excuse my cheesy poem, hopefully Violet will appreciate it! (Until she's a teenager that is and then I'm sure it will be quite embarrassing - but hey, that's what moms are for, right?!)
Merry Christmas!
