Julia's Mod Bedroom

6.29.2010
Recently, Julia wrote me about her bedroom:

Hi Lauren!

Our master bedroom is the last room in the house to be decorated. We have wood floors in a nice redish/orange shade, they are original to the house and I believe are red oak. We also have ALOT of wood trim around all the windows, doors and closets I was talking about. We have a bed and a dresser

We are looking for something calming and simple. I would like to walk in our bedroom and think SANCTUARY instead of BLAH! We need some great window treatments since the windows are a big part of the room. I love color and my husband loves neutrals, so we can go with anything really. Some new bedding would also be fine, we love duvets since we have pets. I just don't even know where to start, which is why I need your help!

Our style is modern retro. We live in a 1950s ranch and while I love mid-century modern decor I don't want our whole house in it. Each room of our house has a different feel and I like that. We really like clean lines with some fun retro accents thrown in.

Thanks, I'm excited!

Julia

Clean lines and neutral colors with colorful, mod accents? Sounds fantastic! Here's what I came up with:

Paint - Behr Night Shade
Duvet - West Elm
