On the Macbooks we mainly watch home videos - she looooves to see herself, her grandparents, aunts, and uncles. But on the iPad and iPhone we've found a few apps that seem both age-appropriate and entertaining. Here are a few of our favorites:
1. Sound Touch for iPad and iPhone - This app has a grid with illustrations of various animals, instruments, household items, vehicles, etc. When Violet touches one of the illustrations, an actual photograph of the item pops up and it makes the related sound. For example, a cat would meow a few times. This one is Violet's absolute favorite.
2. Talking Roby the Robot for iPad - There are a bunch of apps similar to this - Talking Tom Cat, Talking Bacteria John, and more, but this is Violet's favorite. She loves that the robot dances and she boogies down right along with him. He also repeats what you say and does a couple of other interactive moves.
3. Tesla Toy for iPad and iPhone - Love this one - she touches the screen and colorful lights appear. They almost look like fireworks.
4. Mugician for iPad - A virtual distortion synthesizer - she loves touching it and making fun noises and colors. (Fun for dad's too)
5. Kids Xylophone HD for iPad - A virtual xylophone great for making little music - and you can even record your compositions!
Thanks for the fun list. My two year old figured out all on her own how to unlock mommy and daddy's iphones. How are kids so smart about technology?
ReplyDeleteMy almost 2yo also loves to play on the iPad. Her favorite 5 apps.. Zoo Train by Busy Bee, Tozzle by nodeflexion, Monkey Preschool Lunchbox by THUP, 3 Little Pigs by Nosy Crow and watching Blue's Clues on Netflix by Netflix, Inc.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check out your favorites. Thanks for sharing.
