Every time I pass by this window, I sigh and dream about this beautiful, beautiful blue basketed-bike. I know in my head that it wouldn't be fair to own such a bike when I already have a perfectly functional, albeit much more plain set of wheels. Especially since the Hubster is currently bikeless - his very, very nice road bike was stolen from our garage a few years back. But a girl can't help but dream...
And the sighing doesn't stop at the window. Oh no, I like to torture myself more by actually entering the store and poking around. This chalkboard makes me wish I had a bigger house:
And this cute little yellow bar cart looks pretty lonely in this corner, doesn't it? Maybe it just needs a good home...
Oh what a cute vintage radio. Too bad the content on the radio these days isn't fit to play on this beauty.
This little metal lunch box might motivate me to pack my lunch for work:
And a little brass horse to hold all of my trinkets:
Or perhaps a bigger horse for the little lady of the house:
We don't have space for a full high chair, but I'd be willing to make it for this lovely lady:
And although Violet is a little young for this guy, I think I know a few kids in the neighborhood who would help to keep him in practice until she's ready:
I could go on. Seriously. I know that the solution is to stop going by the shop (or win the lottery), but I just can't help myself. I'm an addict. The day that my beautiful blue bike is no longer in the window will be a sad one indeed...
Have you ever wanted something completely impractical that you can't stop thinking about? I hope I'm not the only one.
My grandma has an almost identical cart in her kitchen. There is a picture of me as a baby sitting on the bottom shelf! I love the row cart.
ReplyDeleteI need a bike and trailer or seat for the little boys. But I'm a little scared to ride the streets of York. Just in the last week there were a few close calls with the cars that don't look for the cyclists.
Could you sell your current bike on Craigs List and buy the used one in the shop? And I love the bar cart too - you could make that functional somehow.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute items! I love that little yellow cart and that high chair is just darling.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I walk into the local thrift shops I always see items that I would LOVE but never buy because their just to impractical. But it doesn't hurt to dream right?
What store is this? You found adorable things! And yes, pretty much everything I want to but is impractical :)
ReplyDeleteI know this is completely ridiculous logic but I always say if you wake up thinking about it the next morning that is how you know you need it!
ReplyDeleteof course I don't have the money to support that logic:)
I love the cart too, and I'm obsessed with chalkboards, actually I think that is how I found your blog, I googled chalk board blogs or something! and there popped up your gorgeous wall:)
