Yesterday I posted about the process we went through to create an art wall in our living room. There are a lot of great methods for creating an art wall - from just eyeballing it and going for it to measuring each and every inch. We went somewhere in between by using paper and painter's tape, and I'm so happy with the end result!
When it was complete, I wasn't really a fan of the black frame (shown in the in-progress photos from yesterday.) It was a little too much contrast for me against our creamy walls, so I painted it white.
I also still need to create something for the teeny tiny frame in the center of the arrangement and finish the painting in the upper left frame, but you get the idea. And the best thing is, I can change out the art whenever I want!
I'll leave you with a few helpful links I've found:

So which method do you prefer - measure it out, eyeball it, or somewhere in the middle?
I'd love to hear about it any other methods you've come across as well!
You are a frame-mixing master! I can't get over how beautiful your space looks!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a leaner. I can never commit on an arrangement so I usually just lean art against the walls :(.
I love it! I just went through this a couple of months ago- but only with 4 frames- which you'd think would be an easy task, but it took me over an hour to get it right!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and would love to see more pics of the house. My first home was an incredible little tudor, but hubs and I moved a few years back for a better school district. It's an older ranch style, which I still love, but just doesn't have the same charachter :(
Have a great weekend and check out my blog when you have a chance! I'll be adding a link list soon and With Two Cats will be on it!!

Thanks Kasey! I always figure that I can just patch and touch-up paint if I get it wrong, but I really do like the leaned frame look too :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome!!! I definitely think you made the right choice by painting that frame white. I love using watercolors too, they are way easier and less scary that anything else:) Love the throw pillows on your couch too!
