Bathroom Update

8.10.2011
So a while back we started working on updating the main bath of the H-Haus. When we moved in it had many layers of ugly linoleum and laminate flooring, a rotted subfloor, peeling fiberglass shower walls, and yes - an animal print bathtub border. Here is the idea board I came up with for the space:

And here is the before photo:

Now keep in mind that we're still not finished, but here is the (in-progress) after:

Here's what we've done:
(By the way sorry these aren't the best photos but it's really tough in such a small space). We still have to put some of the chair rail molding back up and find new cabinet knobs.

And probably my favorite thing in the bathroom is this original painting by Michelle Morin. (although the hand towels from Anthropologie aren't bad either):

I'd still like to find a few more wall accessories, and we also need to install the threshold in between the bathroom hexagon tile and hall:

The last thing I'd like to do is have a custom roman shade created for the window. Here are a few of the fabrics I'm considering:

I think I'm leaning toward the more colorful fabric in the large photo on the right, but I also really love the Dwell Studio fabric on the top left - what do you think? And does anyone know what fabric that is on the roman shade?

Thanks so much! xo, Lauren

  4. Thanks! That's why we chose it - it seemed to be a good fit for our little 1930's home.

  8. Hey Lauren -

I don't know if you ended up locating the name of the fabric on the roman shade, but Camila posted about it over on Effortless Style (http://blog.effortless-style.com/2011/08/weekend-recap-my-rug-arrived/) last week. It's Misia fabric by Manuel Canovas. Funny too, because I knew she used this fabric ages ago, and I searched all through her archives trying to find it, but was unsuccessful. So disappointed, but then here she goes and posts about it a couple weeks later!

  9. Thank you so much Carolyn! I hadn't gotten the name of the fabric, just a seller who wouldn't give me the name lol. I really appreciate the info!
