Friday Favorites
Gemma Bird's first birthday party looked like such a blast! What a lucky little girl.
Do you feel like your children are welcome in public places? Violet usually gets a lot of smiles and attention, but I'm wondering if this will change as she gets older.
Congrats to Chelsea on the birth of her beautiful baby girl, Elliotte! (And I can't wait to see the rest of the nursery!)
Did you see Zoe Ellen's nursery over on Ohdeedoh?! It's a showstopper:
Speaking of nurseries, Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook shared her favorite boys' and girls' rooms.
I love that I'm not the only one who sometimes feels a little lost. (Thanks to people like this and this who let us know that everyone else is just trying to figure it all out too).
And last but not least, great back-to-work style inspiration.
Happy Friday!
I'm loving all of your nursery posts, but it makes me giggle when we see one that doesn't have a baby in it yet! It would be fun to see the nursery pre-baby, the changes made post-baby, and again when the baby becomes mobile. I feel like I'm always changing / improving / baby proofing my son's nursery, and as a result it's like a different room each time. Did you notice this with Violet?
ReplyDeleteIn this room the books near the floor = mobile baby disaster. At least with my son, he'd pull them all out, try to step on them and use them to climb on the bench. Once on the bench, he'd proceed to pull down the shelves. Same deal with the picture over the crib. Also, the uncovered corners are just a black eye waiting to happen. Of course we've taught him to not do these things, but initially, the room has to be modified.
But it sure is beautiful!!
I think a lot depends on the kid too. We have books easily accessible for Violet, and she does pull them out but doesn't step on them or use them to climb things. She likes to look at them mostly and move them from palce to place. The picture over the crib definitely has to be well secured, but it's doable. We take Violet to Fudrucker's from time to time and they have a ton of pictures on the wall right at her level in the booths, but they are so secure that she can't rip them off. As far as corners, unless you get round furniture I think that's unavoidable and we haven't had any problems with that either. Violet also doesn't play in her room unsupervised so that's probably part of it! The one thing I do think looks dangerous is the lamp on the radiator next to the crib. Violet would have ripped that off, but obviously they've got some time until that would happen!
