So do you all remember my great rug search from a little while back? All I wanted in the world was an affordable pink striped rug. Madeleine Weinrib's was just perfect, but obviously not in my price range. After a
LOT of searching, I finally settled for a gray striped number from IKEA and was at peace with my purchase, knowing there was really nothing else out there.
I bet you can guess what happened next...just yesterday I was searching for a rug for a client and stumbled across not one, but
four pink striped area rugs. FOUR (Okay one is coral, but close enough). So if anyone is still in the market, please do what I cannot and snatch one up!
Is it just me or does this kind of stuff happen to the rest of you as well?
What about posting the grey one on Craigslist and getting the rug that you actually wanted?
ReplyDeleteHappens all the time. Then there is also the other scenario - you splurge and then it goes on sale.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely are not alone!
ReplyDeleteFive years ago I desperately wanted gray bed sheets, but the only ones I could find were pretty expensive. Of course, about three months after I splurged on those sheets, gray was the new "it" color and you could hardly walk through a store without seeing gray bedding. Could have saved a lot of money if I'd just waited...
ReplyDeleteI second the Craigs List option and then get the pink one! I love the pink striped rug! I'm on a mad rug search currently - one for our living room and one for our bedroom - and just being really indecisive. I love the grey one that you posted about a few weeks ago from Dash & Albert but it is back ordered for a little while - so do I wait patiently or settle for something else?! Ah...the decisions....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the last one in this post.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a place for this in my house. Like the typical girly-girl, I love pink and I love these rugs!
