Bathroom Shopping

6.18.2009
The bathroom reno begins! I've been waiting for this for about three years now. Up until this point we've removed the animal print bathtub border and painted, but haven't been able to do anything significant to our peeling plastic bathroom.

The hubster and I went shopping for tile, fixtures, more tile, and some tiki torch fluid to boot:

I liked the shower and tub fixtures on the left. The hubster liked the ones on the right. The faucet on the right looks like a cowbell in my opinion! Otherwise, I like them too.

We definitely want a detachable shower head. Unfortunately, we would have to buy one of the sets (pictured above) and then buy the detachable one in addition.

We really wanted a larger/taller sink faucet. We liked this one at Lowes:

But then we saw this similar model on clearance for $60! It is almost identical, but was the last older model left. Twenty-six dollars in our pocket for a rainy day - the clearance faucet went in the cart.

And this is our new toilet seat!

Or maybe this one:

Alright, alright we don't even need a toilet seat, but seriously, can you believe they still sell this puffy plastic granny seats!?

This tile was on clearance as well because they only had four square feet left:

We weren't planning on adding glass mosaic tile, but we couldn't resist! It will create a great detail around the upper edge of the tub surround. Kind of like this:

And it will look fantastic with the black and white hex tile we special ordered from Lowes:

Here is the idea board I created for the bathroom from a previous post:

The demo begins on Sunday. Wish us luck!
