Old World Today

I need help with our living room (don't mind the previous owner's furniture). It has hardwood floors and only 2 walls to put things on - the wall to the left which isn't pictured and the wall with the fireplace. The entire main wall is pretty much all sliding Anderson doors. I'm not sure what kind of drapery to get either. We have NO furniture for this room yet - so have a ball! I LOVE anything dark wood and antique-y. Old World style is my favorite.
TIA!

Old World, new space? Here are a couple of options:

Option 1 (Leather Chair):

Option 2 (Upholstered Chair):

  • The layout of the room will remain the same, but with a corner armoire to house the television.
  • An accent chair will float in the center of the room and can be angled toward the fireplace or armoire.
  • An octagonal rug anchors the seating group with a round coffee table placed on top.
  • A grouping of square mirrors and square art will be grouped above the fireplace and on the wall opposite.
  • A chandelier will replace the ceiling fan (which is so not Old World)
  • Soft ivory drapes hung high above the doors and plush pillows help to soften the space.

Dark wood furniture and rich, warm colors help bring an Old World feel to a modern day space!
