Painting Progress

7.29.2009
My painting progress was temporarily interrupted when I ran out of white paint and lost my motivation, but I'm back in the saddle again! Although I'm usually a huge fan of color, there's already so much in my living room that I decided to go more neutral/natural. So far:


A few details added and color adjustments need to be made, but it's getting there!

    It's the Zugspitze - a mountaintop we visited when we were in Germany and Austria. We rode up to it on a gondola and then climbed out to the cross on the top

    Very cool! I've been meaning to make a painting from photos from a trip my fiance and I took last summer to Zion National Park in Utah and the Grand Canyon...I haven't painted in so long, but you've given me some inspiration. It's looking great!

    Yay! Glad to inspire someone. I haven't used oils or acrylics for a while mainly because of the $$ I've been sticking to watercolors. It's hard to get back into a more opaque medium, but I'm doing my best! Wish I was using oils b/c I hate how quickly acrylics dry, but I don't want to deal with the mess. I miss the days of going to the paint studio 5 minutes away from my dorm/apartment and making a mess there and then going home...
